New MP3 from David Vandervelde

David Vandervelde is getting ready to release the follow-up to his first record on Secretly Canadian this August.  Considering that The Moonstation House Band was one of my favorite records from 2007, I'm looking forward to his next outing. 

After relocating from Chicago to Brooklyn, David holed up in his apartment with his acoustic guitar to write most of the music on the album.  The album, entitled Waiting for the Sunrise, is being described as a more rootsy effort, reminiscent of the classic, sentimental pop of the 70's.  Check out a track off the record, due August 5th, below.
