Why? ruled at Southgate
Like The Fall playing trip-hop,
Laconic and cool.
Xiu Xiu's shtick was stale,
Culture Club or Antony
in no-wave disguise.
A phone call at ten
Caused me to miss Thao Nguyen
which was my damn loss!
